For the Love of Money

by Washington Paul

Ever heard "the love of money is the root of all disastrous things you can think of"? I'm quite sure you didn't hear it in that format. But, I'm also sure you've heard something related.

Its pisses me off to consider how much certain people need money but go on propagating that its evil to even think of getting money cause you'll end up loving it and get catastrophically ruined.

The reason for this kind of understanding stems from great misconception along with numerous other misconceptions derived from the Holy Book in man's attempt to understand it.

The love of money can bring inconceivable evil #noDoubt. But, money does great good and it would be unwise to pay no attention to the fact.

Money is simply a means of exchange. That's basically what it is. Its funny how this fact eludes millions who look at monetary notes and think that's money. The notion that the monetary notes we handle is in fact money goes on to influence how these people relate with money.

Here are important tips to consider in your relationship with money.

Know thyself
Socrates made this phrase very popular and for good reason. Some of us have absolutely no idea of who we are when it comes to money. Do you believe earning lots of money is sinful?, Unnecessary?, Pointless? If you answered yes to any of these, chances are that you don't do a lot to earn money and may be one of the unlucky majority who still complain of needing money.

The opposite case may exist where certain individuals seem to have it all when it comes to monetary possession but upon intimate analysis you realize that a number of this people still live in discontent (Here is a story related with same title as this article). Some these persons still go on in attempt to fill the bottomless pits the carry around with notion that money would solve their problem, in which case the greed and accumulative tendencies always results in more problems to these persons and those around them, even the world at large.

Self-Analysis and Self-Awareness go a long way in making us understand our inner relationship with money and to understand ourselves as a whole. It’s important to know where we stand and who are as living beings.

Know what money is
The way it is, it’s easy to see that money is the means through which service is exchanged. There might be evils out there that might make this difficult to see; such as greed and superstition. However, the fact remains fact. It might always be sunny in a rich man’s world. but, the wise ones know to build so that when the rain comes, they remain dry.

Look for ways to earn money
The only way to earn money #genuinely is to serve. And if you feel discontented about your current status, find a way to serve more. Oprah Winifred is known to have said that the second most important thing in this journey of life that would bring substantial returns is to give significant service. Have you thought up a way to serve?
If the love of money is the motivating factor for your pursuit of it, then go for it. My disclaimer is you do not go deluding others in an attempt to get money. Actions always bring forth consequences and you can only get back what you give. In deluding others you end up actually deluding yourself all the way to undesirable consequences.
