Resolutions.

By Washington Paul
Its that time of year when we come up with different resolutions to better ourselves in the new year. With firm determination we make up things to do that we think would make us better human beings; keep that weight off, stop that bad habit, get the love we've craved for so long. But as the days of the new year roll in and the excitement from the happy-new-year jive fizzles our firm determination begins to melt into weakness and before long they do not hold anything. We ultimately begin to feel defeated and almost gladly slide back to the old habits of last year and the previous years before that.
Have you made a new year's resolution? With firm resolve that you are going to see it through? Don't let the former reading put you in despair! Cause we too at BasicPulse have made our resolutions and are super excited to stick to it through the year 2014!
Here are a number of tips that we'll use, hope they help you too.

#1 Think of each day as the beginning of a new year
Some of us may be aware of this; everyday is actually the beginning of a new year. Sure they lack the buzz of "1st January"  but that doesn't strip the fact! what you do with each new day is up to you! Its better of think of it in large chucks such semi-yearly, quarter yearly or every month! The shorter the intervals the more likely it would be to recall your resolution and stick to it.

#2 Practice regular renewal
Breaking old habits can be daunting. Thats  why you have to practice regular renewal. Its best to keep the renewal frequent during the early stages of committing to ones resolution. Practicing regular renewal keeps our resolution fresh in our minds even when they have suffered from a period of neglect.

#3 Don't be too hard on yourself.
When we suffer set backs or suddenly realize that we have come nowhere close to maintaining our resolutions, its very important how we respond to the situation. Saying things like "Once again, i'm an utter failure" or "I knew I wasn't going to succeed at keeping this" wont do any good. Try to figure out why you didn't succeed and set out to mitigate them. Then, repeat tip 2 and renew your resolution(s)
#4 Reward yourself
Reward yourself for small accomplishments! If you start out keeping to your resolution for a whole day or half of it! reward yourself! there's no need to wait in counting 365 more days of accomplishment before you finally give yourself a small pat on the back. Reward for small things and gradually expand the limits. before you know it you'll have whatever good trait you desire stitched to the fabric of your essence.
Hope these tips help! Have a tremendous new year filled with accomplished desires and resolved resolutions!
Cheers.
Thanks for reading.
