Don't Expect To Be Perfectly Consistent

Over this past week, I have enjoyed my delibrate attempt of listening to good music.

An important concept I feel is worth sharing is from Tu-face Idibia's hit single Nfana ibaga.

In the first verse, he begins by singing:

Today is the first day of the rest of my life.

The concept hammers on the important habit of restarting.

This is perhaps the most important habit in our philosophy of doing "the best" with what we have, the best way we can.

Being consistent with good habits is a key to remarkable living. But, what happens when we haven't turned important behaviours into habits?

You restart, restart and restart again, while reflecting upon what is keeping us from being consistent. And, asking if the behaviour we are trying to inhabit is worth the trouble.

Beating ourselves up when we fall short does nothing to making us better. The better thing to do is ask what is working and what isn't working? And, once we have the answers, restart from where we left off.
