On Self-Doubt

Doubt is a thief. That's all that it is. It steals your time, it steals your mind and it steals your resources.

You could protect your home from a human thief by building higher fences, installing thicker burglary proofs, or emptying your home of everything valuable. Also, you could use stronger padlocks and pay a guard to fend off trespassers

Similarly, you could protect your mind from doubt by piling more data, consulting the best trained people, or draining your mind of anything valuable.

Chances are with each approach you employ, the thief would evolve to match your methods of protection. He could get a longer ladder. He could gun down your guard. He could lurk until you unlock the padlocks.

The solution doesn't involve eliminating doubt. It's a useful enemy. The key is to be two steps ahead. Every time. To keep evolving.

When next doubt appears, show it everything you've done and promise it you'll do more.
