One Protocol to Rule Them All

Even with the knowledge that having and creating protocols can guide your approaches to solving problems and addressing sources of dissatisfaction, you may find that you still struggle with developing and utilizing them.

This is because certain essential protocols serve as foundations for all others. A prime example is identifying and documenting gaps. A failure here doesn’t just create minor inefficiencies; it ripples outward, leading to mental clutter, missed opportunities, and even a sense of being stuck.

Your move?

Identify and document these essential protocols and eliminate the bugs that get in the way of getting the most of them.

Your approach to identifying and capturing gaps, ideas, thoughts, tasks, concepts etc., affects all others and deserves special attention if you are to get the most out of your decision to solve problems.

There is no one size fits all for the approach you adopt to capture. But whatever one you settle on must be easy, quickly accessed and trust-worthy. A strong recommendation for the use of note taking and task management apps to ease capturing can suffice here. Top choice: Roam Research used with Todoist.

While the ideal would be to use a single app, you'd be hard-pressed to find one app that does everything you need well. However, you will find apps that do one thing very well. By combining different apps that excel at specific functions, you can create systems that meet your needs.

So... now what?

Have or develop a list of protocols. Sort them into threes by how essential they are to your workflow and processes. Deploy them.
